Congratulations to Brent Sheppard (firstname.lastname@example.org) on his Runner-up win in the 'Purple Prose' category at the 2007 Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest.
Also, if you made a showing in it this year, we'd love to hear about it and congratulate you as well...please just let us know.
Jeremy Perreaux aka email@example.com who found me at my blog...and after I read his extremely funny blog, pleaded with him to come and play HMO. He walked away with a coveted "Dishonorable Mention" in the "Romance" category for 2006.
I also played my hand this year and I am extremely happy to report I made a showing in the "Miscellaneous Dishonorable Mentions" section.
HMO would like to congratulate one of our regular players, Dan McKay, also known as firstname.lastname@example.org, for winning the prestigious Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest this year, 2005. I just wanted to publicly acknowledge his win here as well...as well, I'm a tad partial to the contest, myself. If anyone else who plays here received recognition there, we'd love to hear from you, and of course, which one it was. Again, congratulations, Dan!
Congratulations are in order for our very own El Guapo...who has decided to shed his mask of anonymity in the quest for public notoriety (well, okay...I persuaded him into it)...by letting me announce that he was chosen Runner-up in the Romance category of the 2004 Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest. This is no small feat and kudos are definitely in order. Guapo, we always knew you had it in you...but why haven't you used your talents at HMO yet? ;) Just kidding...great job!
Congratulations also go out to email@example.com (who also has agreed to shed his anonymity) for his wonderfully funny Dishonourable Mention entry about Africa...penned under the name of Jason Dias. I am just ecstatic that I can mention two people who had their opening storyline sentences chosen at Bulwer-Lytton also play here at HMO...and, of course, since I didn't play this year...I'm not the least bit snippy about it. ;) Again, you guys (both were first time players) ...congratulations!
And my self-serving plug...the results of the 2003 Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest.
(If you, or anyone else you know, made a showing at the Bulwer-Lytton this year...please let us know...so we can give them rightful acknowledgement here as well.)
